From planning, to performance tracking, to funding decisions, agencies are seeing the value of Destination Access metrics—measures of how easily people can reach the places they need to go. These metrics capture the important interplay between the transportation system and land use. They summarize how people using a certain mode (driving, biking, riding transit, walking) can reach key destinations (jobs, groceries, health care, schools) within a certain amount of travel time.

For over a decade, the National Access Evaluation (NAE) has provided consistent, national-scale data used by partner agencies for planning, performance management, and decision-making. The NAE team is beginning a new phase to advance this work and further refine how this information is calculated and applied. We invite state DOTs and MPOs to join an informational webinar to learn about the opportunity to participate in the FHWA-approved NAE pooled fund study, led by MnDOT in partnership with the University of Minnesota.

The webinar is free but you must register.
