Research reports

Research reports contain the detailed findings of a wide range of transportation-related research projects. These projects are funded through and administered by the MnDOT Office of Research & Innovation and the Local Road Research Board.

Visit our project pages application to find a research report.

Reports issued before 2000 can be found in the MnDOT Digital Library.

Technical summaries

Technical summaries are concise, two-page summaries of research reports that highlight the purpose, background and findings of selected research projects.

Visit our project pages application to find a technical summary.

Transportation research syntheses

A transportation research synthesis (TRS) is a short-turnaround research report that addresses a specific research topic. It includes summaries of completed and in-progress research, and reports about current practice in departments of transportation (DOTs). A TRS includes a literature search, but also analyzes the results of interviews or surveys. The resources found are clearly organized and summarized, with contact names, web links and other specifications.
