Highway 252/I-94 Environmental Review

Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park and Minneapolis

Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS)

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), has prepared both a federal DEIS and a state DEIS for the Hwy 252/I-94 project between Hwy 610 in Brooklyn Park and North 4th St. in Minneapolis.

The state DEIS has been prepared in accordance with the Minnesota Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) and addresses state-specific environmental review requirements. The federal draft DEIS has been prepared pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The two documents are otherwise substantially similar and evaluate the same project alternatives, impacts, mitigation measures, and preferred alternative.

The public is invited to review the federal and state DEIS documents and provide comments during the 60-day comment period, between Oct. 23 and Dec. 22.

Comments received during the public comment period will be considered as part of both the federal and state environmental review processes. All comments will be reviewed. Substantive comments will be responded to consistent with applicable state and federal requirements.
