History and significance

Bridge 27547 is a prestressed, post-tensioned, concrete slab bridge that was designed by R. Fredrickson for the City of Minneapolis and constructed in 1970. It carries two-way traffic on Chicago Avenue over Minnehaha Creek. The bridge is significant as an example of the earliest period of use for prestressed, post-tensioned, concrete slab design and construction in Minnesota.
