Area Transportation Partnership seeks applications for transportation enhancements (Aug. 11, 2010)
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — The West Central Minnesota Area Transportation Partnership is seeking applications for the 2015 Transportation Enhancement Program, which has approximately $600,000 available for eligible projects in Mahnomen, Clay, Becker, Wilkin, Otter Tail, Grant, Douglas, Stevens, Traverse, Pope, Big Stone and Swift counties. Projects require a 20 percent cash match.

PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation received a national Transportation Planning Excellence Award for the 2009 Minnesota Comprehensive Statewide Freight and Passenger Rail Plan, a strategic vision for enhancing the movement of people and freight and improving access to goods and services.
Political campaign signs not permitted on state highway rights of way (July 14, 2010)
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Placement of campaign signs and other unauthorized objects in state highway rights of way is prohibited under state law, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. In addition, signs may not be placed on private property outside of the right of way limits without landowner consent.

Mn/DOT, MSP asks motorists to avoid Wadena area through the weekend (June 18, 2010)

Winter storm causes numerous crashes involving snowplows (Feb. 9, 2010)
SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Nine traffic crashes involving snowplows have occurred on area highways throughout Minnesota in the last two days, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Five of the crashes happened in the Twin Cities metropolitan area and four took place in southeastern Minnesota.
