Lane closures

Mon, July 6 through mid-September
  • Wayzata Blvd. (the frontage road on the south side of I-394) is closed between east of Hampshire Ave. and Colorado Ave.
    • Local business/resident access will remain open
    • Westbound Wayzata Blvd. detour: From Park Place Blvd., go north over I-394; west on Golden Hills Dr. to Wayzata Blvd. to Market St., then south on Louisiana Ave. over I-394 to Wayzata Blvd.
    • Eastbound Wayzata Blvd. detour: From Louisiana Ave., go north over I-394; east on Market St. to Wayzata Blvd. to Golden Hills Dr., then south on Park Place Blvd., west on 16th St. and then north on Zarthan Ave. to Wayzata Blvd.
Through October
  • Eastbound I-394 is reduced to two lanes between Louisiana Ave. and Xenia Ave./Park Place
    • Eastbound I-394 traffic will be shifted into the E-ZPass lanes
    • No E-ZPass option — no tolls, no carpool or transit lane
  • Expect intermittent lane closures on I-394 in both directions between Pennsylvania Ave. and Dakota Ave.

Ramp closures

  • The following ramps are closed:
    • Eastbound I-394 to Xenia Ave./Park Place Blvd.
    • Louisiana Ave. to eastbound I-394

About this project

We are working at the I-394/Louisiana Ave. interchange to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow on eastbound I-394.

Summary of work

  • Extend the acceleration/deceleration lane on eastbound I-394 from the Louisiana Ave. exit ramp to the on ramp from Louisiana Ave.
  • Add a new acceleration/deceleration lane on eastbound I-394 between Louisiana Ave. to Xenia Ave. South/Park Place Blvd.
  • Remove free right turn lanes from northbound Louisiana Ave. to eastbound I-394 and southbound Louisiana Ave. to westbound I-394
  • Replace the signal systems on the north and south sides near the ramps to/from I-394 and Louisiana Ave.
  • Realign the retaining wall along the ramp from Louisiana Ave. to eastbound I-394
  • Replace sidewalk along the ramp from eastbound I-394 and Louisiana Ave. and add accessible curb ramps for pedestrians at the interchange
