History & significance

Bridge 95924 is a single-span, precast concrete arch bridge constructed in 1983 under the proprietary BEBO patent. It carries Noble Avenue North over Bassett Creek in Golden Valley, Hennepin County. The BEBO design was developed by Swiss civil engineer Werner Heierli in the 1960s. The patented parabolic design involved complex engineering and included precasting of headwalls, wingwalls, the arch, and arch base. Bridge 95924 is significant as an early example of a BEBO patent precast arch bridge constructed in Minnesota.
