Until Jan. 10, 2014, Emergency Executive Order 13-14 relieves hours-of-service regulations for Minnesota commercial propane drivers who directly assist in emergency relief efforts. All driver qualification requirements still apply. For more information, click here.
By Jan. 30, 2014, commercial drivers must provide a self-certification form to maintain valid driving privileges. In addition to this form, intrastate and non-exempt interstate commercial drivers must provide a current medical examiner’s certification, along with any required waivers, to maintain commercial driver status. If no action is taken by Jan. 30, the status of affected CDLs will be downgraded to a Class D license – in accordance with 49 CFR 383.71(h).
(Exempt interstate and intrastate drivers do not need to complete a medical examiner’s certificate, but do need to complete a self-certification form.) To verify your certification status, follow the instructions in the news release or contact the Department of Public Safety directly.
