About this project
In 2025, MnDOT will make safety, traffic flow and signal improvements to Highway 60 in Windom between John Caldwell Drive and the Des Moines River Bridge.
MnDOT is piloting a 3-lane configuration, consisting of one through lane in each direction and a center left turn lane. This pilot project is based on a preferred option from the 2019-2020 Highway 60 Windom Corridor Study.

- Restriping and pavement preservation for the entire project corridor
- Signal replacement and ADA upgrades at 6th and 10th Streets
Goals
- Improve safety for all users
- Improve traffic flow
- Replace deteriorating traffic signals
- Provide safer crossings at intersections for pedestrians and bicyclists
- Maintain existing business access
