About this project
Building upon the Mankato/North Mankato Area Planning Organization (MAPO) Hwy 169 Corridor Study in 2021, MnDOT is developing a project for 2027 and 2028 construction that implements key elements to improve the pavement, safety and traffic flow of Hwy 169 through the cities of Mankato and North Mankato.
Summary of work
2027 construction will include work from Belgrade Ave. to north of Hwy 14. 2028 construction will include work from Riverfront Dr. to Belgrade Ave.
- Reconstruct Hwy 169 for a significant, long-term pavement fix
- From the intersection of Hwy 169 with Riverfront Dr. to just north of the Hwy 169/Hwy 14 interchange
- Construct a roundabout at Webster Ave.
- Remove the signal and close the access at Lind St., and realign to construct at roundabout at N. River Ln.
- Construct a signalized Green-T at the eastbound ramp for Hwy 14 onto Hwy 169
- Repair three bridges
- Improve bicycle and pedestrian accommodations (specific elements to be determined in detailed design)
