Summary of work
Repairs on I-35 southbound and northbound bridges over Albert Lea Lake are scheduled to begin June 15, 2026. It is expected to be completed in October 2026.
Repairs include pile wrapping. This protects the support posts (called piles) under a bridge. Crews will be wrapping the piles with a tough, waterproof material that seals them off from moisture. This will help the bridge last longer.
Traffic impacts
Shoulder closures will occur during construction.
