On Oct. 25, the closure will switch to the westbound lane and crews will finish replacing expansion joints and paint the west side of the bridge.

Summary of work

On May 17, 2021, work started on the Hwy 60 bridge over the Mississippi River in Wabasha. The bridge is being painted and expansion joints are being replaced. Lanes are scheduled to be reopened in December of 2021 and final work will be completed in 2022.

Traffic impacts

  • The Hwy 60 bridge will remain open with only one lane. Traffic signals will be used to direct motorists through the project in a single lane.
  • Occasionally the roads under the bridge will be closed and detoured to neighboring roads when work is occurring overhead.
