Detour April 29–May 3

Crews will close Hwy 169 the week of April 29th to replace three pipes/culverts beneath the roadway. Work to take up to five days. All lanes will reopen by noon Friday, May 3.

About this 2024 project

Begins late May

MnDOT will resurface and improve seven miles of Hwy 169 between Crow Wing Co. Rd. 26 south of Garrison to half-mile north of Ojibwe Dr.; includes new storm sewer, guardrail upgrades and new left-turn lanes at Co. Rd. 26 Timber Trail and Swing-A-Way/S Port.

Summary of work

  • Resurface road and shoulders
  • Add left-turn lanes at:
    • Timber Trail Rd. (Co. Rd. 25)
    • Swing-A-Way/S Port
  • Replace three culverts

Future impacts

  • Detour for pipe work (April 29–May 3): Crow Wing Co. Rd. 26, Crow Wing Co. Rd. 8 and Crow Wing Co. Rd. 2/460th St.
  • Weekdays: Expect short segments of alternate one lane, one-way traffic with flaggers, Mon–noon Fri, during daylight hours
  • Overnights: Sun night–Fri morning for approx. 2 weeks in June
  • Weekends/holidays: All lanes open
