Traffic impacts, work plans

The new interchange project will take three work seasons to complete and it's looking like 2029 will be the most impactful with a full closure at the intersection.

Overall, motorists will encounter changes as they navigate through this area of Baxter. Detours will be necessary to work beneath the road, elevate the road and construct bridges.

Hwy 371 and Hwy 210 will have reduced speeds, shoulder or single-lane closures at off-peak times during the full duration of this project. Off-road work to occur year round.

Expect to see crews and equipment prior to this project as they relocate utilities, survey locations, aquire right of way, test materials and more. The city of Baxter will work on area improvements in 2027 in preperation of this project.

Full closure at intersection. Hwy 210 and Hwy 371 reduced to one-lane of traffic and detoured around the closure:

  • Excelsior Rd. open at most times to cross street traffic at Hwy 371 in the work zone, includes roundabout at Dellwood Dr.

Finish remaining work; reconnect Excelsior Rd. between the new Dellwood Dr. roundabout and the Edgewood Dr. roundabout beneath Hwy 371 bridge
