Minnesota is known for having some of the best, most standardized airports in the nation. It is also known for having the best navigational and weather information systems available to pilots. Together with our corps of outstanding airport sponsors MnDOT is proud of these recognitions and the current Minnesota airport system! Minnesota has 135 publicly owned and publicly funded airports and 15 Public Seaplane Bases located across the state. There are 9 Public Airports that have airline services. Additionally, there are 69 Private Airports, 39 Private Seaplane Bases, and 113 Heliports (mostly associated with hospitals).
