This is our 18th annual event with planes from all over the midwest landing on a well maintained 2600 foot turf strip on an Island in the middle of the Mississippi River or land your float plane on the river and step taxi to our sandy beach.The event is one of the most unique anywhere around. The hosts provide smoked chicken legs or bring your own meat to grill, along with table ware and a dish to share. We have nice door prizes in a variety of categories. Depart KBRD, fly to 4 grass strips in any order, Hill City (07Y), Bowstring (9Y0), Remer (52Y), East Gull Lake (9Y2), and return to Brainerd, a total of approximately 160 NM. Pickup a sealed envelope with one playing card in each location and reveal your hand when you return to Brainerd.
Bonus cards may be earned to improve your hand. Great fun, socializing at every stop, sometimes even food.
Registration opens at 07:30, preflight briefing at 08:15 Wheels up at any time thereafter, must return to KBRD and check in by 13:30 to be in the running.
Great prizes for the top 3 hands, special prize for any 5 of a kind hand. Many door prizes, everyone goes home with something!
