All lanes set to open on Highway 210 through Baxter by July 3

BAXTER, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is excited to announce that roadwork is nearly complete and all lanes on both directions of Highway 210 through Baxter are set to open by July 3.

The $4.5 million project to resurface and improve Highway 210 between Baxter Drive and Timberwood Drive began in early May.

Traveler benefits include:

  • A new, smoother road surface, includes turn lanes and shoulders
  • Improved access and traffic flow on the west end of Highway 210 at Memorywood Drive between Highland Scenic Drive (Crow Wing County Road 48) and Meredith Drive, as follows:
  • Updated drainage structures along Highway 210 west of Memorywood Drive
  • Improved motorist and pedestrian safety

Due to material delays, crews will return in mid-July to install a new signal system at Highland Scenic Drive. These new traffic lights will remain covered and inactive until BNSF completes their system upgrades, which will ensure a coordinated and safe integration of both systems.

MnDOT thanks the community and traveling public for their patience during this project on Highway 210 through Baxter.
