River access

Crews spent spring/summer 2022 working on the demolition and removal of the north side (westbound lanes) of the Hwy 10 bridge over the Rum River. Here’s what 3 months of work looks like, condensed down to just under two minutes. The new bridge for westbound lanes will be constructed in summer/fall 2022.

Summer river access

River access will be maintained throughout the construction project; however, there will be periodic closures to all water traffic so the Rum River bridge can be safely removed.

River impacts

Thu, May 26 through fall
  • Rum River water traffic may experience periodic 15-minute closures of the river near the Hwy 10 bridge.

Signs will be posted in advance of any closures at local public access points and notices will be sent out in email updates.

Winter river access

Trail closures near the river may restrict winter recreation/snowmobile access in the winter. Check back for more details as they become available.
