Metro District Preliminary Design

Metro District Layout Approval Committee

The Metro District Layout Approval Committee (LAC) reviews layouts as part of the staff approval process for the Metro District. The roles and responsibilities (Word) of the committee are:

  • To review all layouts generated by Metro District for content and consistency standards and to recommend revisions. They are also to review layouts generated by consultants and local agencies.
  • To recommend approval of the layouts generated by Metro District to the District Program Delivery Office Director (the person approving the layouts for the district)
  • To track approved layouts by Metro District and maintain an ongoing database
  • Meet as needed

Schedule

The LAC meets every other Wednesday. Layouts and supporting documents (including the most current Layout Content Review Form) must be submitted two weeks prior to the desired meeting date to be included in the LAC meeting agenda. Any submittals after that will be included in the next LAC meeting.

The two-week submittal change was caused by a significant number of large/complex projects in early 2019. We have struggled to give each a thorough review before the meeting, and to prepare comment letters in a timely manner.

The LAC does not preclude the need for review by other MnDOT units. Consult the MnDOT Project Manager as to which units need to be included in the layout review process for the project.
