Design guidance

MnDOT has officially transitioned from the Road Design Manual (RDM) to its successor, the Facility Design Guide (FDG). On Dec. 12, 2024, two transmittal packages (FDG 24-05 and RDM 24-04) were published following approval and concurrence by FHWA on Dec. 10, 2024. Notably, RDM 24-04 represents the final transmittal package for the RDM. With its release, all content from the RDM has been retired, reproduced, or updated within the FDG, and the RDM is now formally retired.
