Planned for 2026-West of Milan:
Project location: Hwy 40, from Hwy 119 west of Milan to 0.1 miles west of 5th street in Milan.
Project summary: Crews will resurface the existing pavement and repair culverts with new linings. In addition, some cattle passes along the corridor will be filled and closed.
Why it matters: These upgrades will extend the life of the pavement and culverts, and provide a smoother driving surface.
Traffic impact: To make room for construction work, motorists will experience temporary lane closures and can expect minor delays. There will be no detour.
Planned for 2027-East of Milan:
Hwy 40, from Hwy 59 to CR 4 east of Milan will be resurfaced. A detour is anticipated. As we near the construction date for this project, MnDOT will provide updates and keep you informed. You can view the 2027 project area here:
