Hwy 29 and 8th Avenue

MnDOT, in partnership with the City of Alexandria, is conducting a corridor study to evaluate improvements that can be made along Highway 29 in Alexandria. The study will also examine the future transportation and mobility needs to develop a long-term vision for the corridor. The primary goal is to create a corridor that:

  • Balances needs of all users
  • Manages access
  • Improves local street access
  • Identifies signaling needs

Study Review Committee (SRC)

MnDOT is partnering with the City of Alexandria to help identify the current issues and create a local vision for the corridor. A Study Review Committee will help MnDOT ensure that community values are represented in the development and evaluation of project alternatives, while fostering conversations within the community.

MnDOT and its partners have committed to work with the Alexandria community to ensure that the community’s concerns and aspirations are directly reflected in the alternatives developed as part of the Highway 29 Study and to provide feedback on how the community influenced recommendations and decisions.
