Traffic impacts

  • Highway 194/Mesaba Ave westbound over W Superior Street is closed through early September
    • No direct access from I-35 to Mesaba Ave
    • Vehicle detour exits at Hwy 53 and travels to Hwy 194/Central Entrance. Motorists can also exit I-35 and access Michigan St.
  • Southbound I-35 on-ramp from southbound Hwy 194 and W Superior St will be closed starting Aug. 10. Closure expected through late September.
    • Traffic will be detoured on Michigan St to 21st Ave W to Hwy 53 to I-35.
  • W Superior S under Hwy 194/Mesaba Ave westbound will be closed starting Aug. 24. Closure expected through mid-October.
    • Westbound vehicle traffic will be detoured via 6th Ave W to 1st St to Mesaba Ave to Superior St
    • Eastbound vehicle traffic will be detoured on to 1st Street at 24th Ave W and continue on W 1st St, crossing Mesaba Ave, to 6th Ave W to Superior St.
    • Pedestrian detour via N 6th Ave W to W 1st St to Mesaba Ave

A marked pedestrian detour for pedestrian bridge reconstruction travels from Michigan Street to Mesaba Ave to 1st St to 6th Ave W.
