About this project
This project will reconstruct Highway 73 in and near Kettle River.
- Within the rural segment, the proposed project generally consists of the following work:
- Remove all pavement, and pave new surface.
- Revise the intersection of Hwy 27 and Hwy 73 to remove skew. Intersection revisions will completely reconstruct the intersection including the Hwy 27 approach, bypass and turn lanes. There will also be new roadside ditching, culverts, utility relocations, and new intersection lighting.
- Repair centerline culverts.
- Remove and replace existing signing.
- Within the urban segment, the proposed project consists of the following work:
- Remove all pavement, and pave new surface.
- Remove all existing sidewalk and reconstruct in the same location to meet accessibility compliance, adding a boulevard where feasible. Curb lines will remain the same except at locations of curb bump outs at or near intersections.
- Extend curb and gutter to the north of 3rd Avenue approximately 275 ft.
- Repair approximately 20 storm sewer structures.
- Line approximately 350-ft of storm sewer and clean approximately 250 ft of storm sewer.
- Provide new storm sewer to accommodate ADA intersection bump-outs and curb revisions and proposed curb extension.
- Remove existing roadway lighting system and provide new roadway lighting system.
- Remove and replace existing signing.
