Summary of work
In 2030, we plan to resurface and improve Hwy 61 in Duluth from just beyond the Lester River Bridge to just past the Superior Street intersection.
Planning work included a community survey, a public meeting, and studies of the Superior Street and Congdon Boulevard/Scenic 61 intersections.
Based on these findings, we evaluated several design options to reduce traffic speed and improve safety. The proposed work includes substantial changes at the two intersections and upgrades to biking and pedestrian infrastructure.
