Conflict Assessment & Management Process

CAMP Process and Manual

The five-step CAMP process helps MnDOT personnel strategically plan for and address potential and known conflicts that arise during MnDOT work. It is a tool that can help you accomplish your professional goals by reducing the negative impacts of conflict and maximizing the expertise of all. The process itself is scalable and customizable to fit your situation.

There five major steps of the CAMP process are:

  1. Identify and analyze the context of your project or issue
  2. Identify and analyze the potential and known conflicts with your project or issue
  3. Develop prioritized conflict resolution strategies
  4. Execute conflict resolution strategies
  5. Monitor, evaluate and adjust your conflict assessment and management

The process and manual will be periodically assessed for compatibility with other MnDOT processes, documents, and procedures (i.e. project scoping, public engagement, etc.). Please contact the CAMP Coordinator with comments and ideas on how the process can be improved to meet your needs.
