Purpose

The purpose is to create a level playing field by developing small businesses and the workforce to ensure equal opportunity for all to participate on MnDOT projects.

When to use this subject

For specific process information on projects, contact the Small Business Contracting or Equal Employment/Contract Compliance Team individual assigned to the district the project is in. The Title VI Coordinator is responsible for all districts.

  • Small Business Contracting: project-based goal setting, contract clearance, and project monitoring
  • Equal Employment/Contract Compliance Team: equal employment opportunity, discrimination complaints, workforce goals, on-the-job training, and tribal employment
  • Title VI: nondiscrimination in public engagement and project planning, including language access, environmental justice, and identifying potential Title VI complaints
