Goal

The goal of this office is to provide pre-letting and post-letting guidance to internal and external partners for overall issues related to heavy civil construction contract administration.

  • Bid letting – How to bid, contracting, insurance requirements, bonding
  • Construction information tools – Contract documentation, payments, and AASHTOWare construction support
  • Construction standards – Statewide final inspections and reporting
  • Construction support and claims – Support in claims avoidance and construction issues
  • Contract changes – Document review, price recommendations, rental rates, force account, and task orders
  • Innovative contracting – New practices supplementing traditional low-bid, design-bid-build contracting
  • Labor compliance – Investigating prevailing wage complaints, compliance assistance, certified payrolls, and training
  • Work zone safety – Develop, train, and promote work zone safety practices
