Westbound Hwy 62 experiences up to 6 hours of traffic congestion each day in this area, between Valley View Rd. and Hwy 100. This project will widen the shoulders and auxiliary lane from the Valley View Rd. on ramp to the northbound Hwy 100 ramp. During this process, noisewalls may be constructed along both sides of Hwy 62 east of Hwy 100 to help reduce noise pollution. These improvements will increase the overall safety and capacity of the road.
Summary of work
- Updating westbound Hwy 62 auxiliary lane and widening inside shoulder between Valley View Rd. and Hwy 100
- Noise walls may be built at the following locations based on voting results:
- Along the north side of Hwy 62 from approximately West 62nd St. to Valley View Rd.
- Along the south side of Hwy 62 from approximately West 64th St. to West Shore Dr.
