Since parking is limited during legislative sessions, busing may be easier. MnDOT Library is located in the Transportation Building which is located on the following bus lines; 3, 16, 50, 62, 67, 94, 262. Call Metro Transit, (612) 373-3333, for your specific route information.

 

The Transportation Building is to the north of I-94 just minutes from downtown St. Paul. It is accessible from the east and west on I-94, and from the north and south on I-35E.

 

I-94 eastbound: Exit at Marion Street. Turn left. Go to Aurora Avenue and turn right. Go one block. Turn right onto Rice Street, and enter Parking Lot F on the left hand side of Rice Street.

 

I-94 westbound: Exit at Marion Street. Turn right. Go to Aurora Avenue and turn right. Go one block. Turn right onto Rice Street, and enter Parking Lot F on the left hand side of Rice Street.

 

I-35E northbound: Exit at Kellogg Boulevard. Turn left. Go to John Ireland Boulevard and turn right. Metered parking spaces line both sides of the boulevard.

 

I-35E southbound: Exit at University Avenue. Turn right. Go to Rice Street and turn left. Go one block and enter Parking Lot F on the left hand side of Rice Street.

Where to Park Near the Transportation Building

Public metered parking is available at Lot F off of Rice Street on the west side of the Transportation Building. The Multi-space parking meters accept quarters, $1 and $5 bills as well as VISA/Mastercard credit cards; $1.50/hr, or $6.00 all-day rate. Visitors may also park in Lot D, next to the State Office Building at Aurora Avenue and Rice Street. Public street metered parking is available along John Ireland Boulevard and Fuller Avenue, which are near the Transportation Building.

 

Disability parking is available in Lot F on the west side of the Transportation Building. Additional disability parking is located directly behind the Capitol (Lot N), west of the State Office Building (between Lots D and E), and in most other lots in the Capitol complex.
