The Minnesota Government Data Practices Act (Chapter 13) states that estates the public government data can be inspected free of charge. However, there are guidelines for charging requesters should they request copies of government data.
Charges are assessed depending on whether the data requested is public data or data about the individual. Fees are deposited into the Trunk Highway Fund.
