About this project
MnDOT plans to reconstruct and improve Hwy 65 (Hwy 23) through Mora in 2030 or beyond. The project is in the scoping and early preliminary design phase.
Summary of work
Hwy 65 Mora
- Reconstruct the road from S Union St. to Maple Ave., includes city utilities and storm water
- Reconstruct entrances and frontage road connections
- Update and reconstruct these accesses:
- Hwy 65/23 Union St. and Division St. - single lane roundabout
- McLean St. - right in/out access
- Portage Ave. - realign, right in/out access
- Hwy 65/23 and Clark St. - single lane roundabout
- Hwy 65, Hwy 23 and Forest Ave. E - replace signal with a single lane roundabout
- E Maple Ave. reconstruct access to three-fourth access (right-in/out and one left turn lane NB Hwy 65 to WB E Maple Ave.)
- Add or update pedestrian trail or sidewalk along both sides of the highway
- Install enhanced crosswalk signal systems at key locations
Rural areas
- Resurface Hwy 65 north and south of Mora
- Reconstruct the Hwy 65 intersection at Hwy 23 and Dala Ln. with a single lane roundabout
