State Aid is happy to announce Mattia Zammarchi has accepted the role of State Aid Projects Engineer, effective July 1, 2026. Mattia joined MnDOT and State Aid last year (June 2025) as Assistant Projects Engineer. Mattia brings nearly 10 years of experience in civil engineering and research, with a background spanning both public and private sector work in transportation and infrastructure. During his seven years at American Engineering Testing, he led pavement evaluation projects for cities, counties, and state agencies—work involving data analysis, pavement management, and close collaboration with local governments. Mattia holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Brescia in Italy, and a master’s in Geo-Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
