2025 Local Road Improvement Program Solicitation update

As a result of the 2025 1st Special Legislative Session, $47 million in General Obligation (GO) bonds was appropriated for the competitive Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP). Of this amount, at least $5 million is designated for grants to townships.
State Aid anticipates releasing the LRIP Solicitation in fall 2025. We are currently finalizing program details and will begin posting information from mid-August through mid-September. The first updates will include webinar details and the solicitation timeline. As the solicitation release date approaches, additional materials—including the solicitation guide, FAQs, and other supporting documents will be made available.
Please visit the LRIP webpage regularly beginning mid-August for all updates related to the 2025 LRIP Solicitation. State Aid will also share details directly with eligible applicants, including counties, state aid cities, small cities, and townships.
