Small Contracts to Advance Equity Program

Purpose

Affirm our commitment to racial, geographic, and economic equity through the following:

• Reduce structural barriers that small, diverse contractors face on large traditional MnDOT contracts
• Expand diversity of MnDOT’s contractor and consultant pools
• Build capacity of small businesses so Minnesota’s construction industry is more vibrant and productive
• Increase safety and accessibility of MnDOT infrastructure so all Minnesotans can meet their daily needs

This program supports helps identify work well-suited for local small businesses to perform as prime, especially businesses owned by women, indigenous, persons of color, veterans and other businesses that have historically been under-represented in MnDOT contracting results.
