Policy statement

The purpose of this policy is to set forth procedures to follow should an emergency situation occur resulting from the release or abandonment of hazardous material on trunk highway right-of-way.

Reason for retiring the policy

The subject matter pertaining to the emergency response to hazardous materials spills and abandonment is addressed in Technical Memorandum No. 11-10-M-02 Roadway Incident Procedure, Vehicle Fluid and Cargo Spill Response, Technical Memorandum No. 10-08-ENV-02 Abandoned Containers on MnDOT Right-of-Way and Minnesota Statute 169.041, subd. 5a "Quick Clearance;" a separate policy is not needed.
