Policy statement

The official Minnesota Highway map will be distributed to governmental or political entities, and the general public to meet the needs of travelers and other interested parties.

Reason for retiring the policy

The original purpose of this policy was to ensure paper copies of the maps were available to requestors. With the advent of technology, the demand for paper maps is declining. The policy limiting the quantities of paper maps provided to requestors should be based on a reasonable assessment of available quantities. The department has the right to limit quantities based on specific situations. A distribution policy is not needed.
