Nightly closure at west Highway 210/I-94 interchange in Fergus Falls scheduled tonight, tomorrow for bridge demolition
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. –Tonight, Thurs., Oct. 29 and Friday, Oct. 30, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. each evening, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will close Interstate 94 in both directions at the west Highway 210 and I-94 interchange (Exit 54) for bridge demolition work. During each nightly closure, interstate traffic will be temporarily routed around the work area using the interchange ramps.
With traffic now running on the new bridge and alignment of Highway 210, the old south bridge over I-94 will be removed. The bridge demolition is expected to take two nights to complete.
While the southside ramps will temporarily reopen Thursday and Friday nights for traffic rerouting, they will close again during daytime hours and after the bridge demolition is completed so remaining work on the ramps can continue. Drivers will continue to use the detour to County Road 1/Tower Road (Exit 55).
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change.
MnDOT urges travelers to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
