Highway 14 resurfacing near Owatonna begins Oct. 19; I-35 resurfacing nearing completion
OWATONNA, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 14 near Owatonna will experience lane and ramp closures beginning Oct. 19 as crews resurface the road, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The resurfacing of Interstate 35 northbound and southbound lanes from Highway 14 to the Straight River Rest Area is expected to be completed by the end of October. Once completed, all lanes will reopen to traffic.
In November, crews will close a lane on I-35 northbound to repair a slope south of the I-35/Highway 14 interchange. MnDOT will announce that work in advance.
Highway 14 eastbound and westbound lanes will be resurfaced from I-35 to Highway 218. Lane closures will be in place during the work. It is expected to be completed in November.
Short-term ramp closures will occur and motorists will be detoured. It is anticipated that ramp closures will last several hours to a few days. Closures will be shown on 511mn.org.

Detour: Go north on Highway 218 and take the westbound exit to Highway 14. Take the County Road 45 exit and then exit to Highway 14 eastbound.
