Weekend Highway 52 southbound detour planned for 85th Street bridge repairs north of Rochester, Aug. 28-31
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Highway 52 southbound motorists north of Rochester will experience a weekend-long detour, Aug. 28-31, while crews make repairs to the 85th Street bridge, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Starting at 7 p.m. on Aug. 28, Highway 52 southbound will be closed until 5 a.m. on Aug. 31. During the closure a detour route will be in place. Northbound Highway 52 will remain open.
The southbound traffic detour route (JPG) is as follows: Highway 52 southbound, take Exit 64, turn left (east) on Olmsted County Road 112/100th Street NW, turn right (south) on Olmsted County Road 112/ 18th Avenue NW, turn right (east) on Highway 63/75th Street NW, then take the ramp to Highway 52.
After this closure, a single lane closure on Highway 52 southbound at the 85th Street bridge will continue into October.
Crews started the project on Aug. 20. During various parts of the project, motorists will experience short-term detours and lane closures. The work is expected to be completed in October.
