I-494 ramp closures at I-35W and East Bush Lake Road start June 15

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Crews will close a set of ramps along Interstate 494 starting Monday, June 15, including the ramp from southbound I-35W to westbound I-494 through Monday, June 29. The closures are part of a Minnesota Department of Transportation construction project on I-494 in Edina, Bloomington and Richfield.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead for these upcoming ramp closures:

Southbound I-35W ramp to westbound I-494 — closed June 15-29

Beginning Monday, June 15 through Monday, June 29, crews will close the ramp from southbound I-35W to westbound I-494. This closure is necessary for the installation of barriers on the ramp. Motorists can use westbound Highway 62 to southbound Highway 100 to westbound I-494 as a detour.

Eastbound I-494 ramp to East Bush Lake Road — closed June 15-29

Crews will also close the ramp from eastbound I-494 to East Bush Lake Road beginning Monday, June 15 through Monday, June 29. This closure is necessary for storm sewer work. Motorists can use eastbound I-494 to southbound Highway 100 to west 84th Street to East Bush Lake Road as a detour.

Eastbound I-494 ramp to Lyndale Avenue — closed June 22-July 6

Starting Monday, June 22 through Monday, July 6, the ramp from eastbound I-494 to Lyndale Avenue will be closed. This closure is necessary to allow crews to safely perform construction on the ramp. Motorists should use Portland Avenue, American Boulevard, and Lyndale Avenue as a detour.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
