Overnight Highway 169 closure in Jordan starts May 26

Temporary intersection with signal at Creek Lane scheduled to open 5 a.m. May 27

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Crews will close Highway 169 in both directions between Highway 282/County Road 9 and Highway 21 in Jordan from 10 p.m. Tuesday, May 26 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 27 to switch traffic to a temporary signal at Highway 169 and Creek Lane, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Motorists can bypass the nighttime closure using Highway 21 and Highway 282.

Then, from 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 27 until early fall 2027, intersection traffic will shift from Highway 169/Highway 282/County Road 9 to a temporary intersection at Highway 169/Creek Lane.

These road closures are necessary to allow crews to continue bridge and wall construction at Highway 169 and Highway 282/County Road 9.

All Jordan businesses will remain accessible during the closures.

  • Use Creek Lane to access businesses along Triangle Lane.
  • Businesses along Highway 282 between Highway 169 and Creek Lane will be accessible from Creek Lane South.
  • Truck traffic exiting and entering Highway 169 in Jordan should continue to use the Delaware Avenue/County Road 59 interchange through early fall 2027.

From May 27 through summer 2026, northbound Highway 169 will be reduced to one lane from just south to just north of the Highway 282/County Road 9 intersection. Portions of southbound Highway 169 will be reduced to one lane from Highway 21 through the Highway 282/County Road 9 intersection.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.

MnDOT, in partnership with the city of Jordan and Scott County, will build a new interchange at Highway 169 and Highway 282/County Road 9 from spring 2025 through 2027. Construction will include two bridges, large drainage culverts, two roundabouts, a pedestrian tunnel, sidewalks, retaining walls and noise walls. The project will improve safety and traffic flow and create better connections for pedestrians and bicyclists.
