Highway 7 in Minnetonka to close Oct. 15-20 for culvert replacement

Roseville, Minn. – Crews will close and detour both directions of Highway 7 between Vine Hill Road in Shorewood/Deephaven and County Road 101 in Minnetonka from 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15 to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20 for a culvert replacement, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Motorists will follow these posted detours:

Westbound: Highway 7, to southbound I-494, to westbound Highway 5, to northbound Highway 41 to Highway 7.
Eastbound: Highway 7, to southbound Highway 41, to eastbound Highway 5 to, to northbound I-494, to Highway 7.

Highway 7 access at Lynwood Terrace and Old Excelsior Boulevard will also be closed.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, westbound Highway 7 will be reduced to one lane between Highway 101 and Vine Hill Road.

The lane and road closures are necessary to replace a failing culvert under the highway that is creating a sinkhole.

All traffic impacts are tentative and weather dependent.

MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
