Highway 246 detour begins July 9 for resurfacing, culvert replacements near Nerstrand
NERSTRAND, Minn. – Motorists will encounter a detour on Highway 246 from Rice County Road 26 in Nerstrand to Highway 56 beginning July 9 for pavement resurfacing and culvert replacements, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
In addition to resurfacing the roadway with a new layer of asphalt, crews will be upgrading all guardrail and repairing or replacing more than 20 culverts. This will restore ride quality, extend the pavement service life and provide a safer traveled way.
Work is expected to be completed by mid-October 2025. The prime contractor of this $3,063,080 project is Crane Creek Asphalt.
