MnDOT invites public to April 26 open house for Hwy 9

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend an open house on Wednesday, April 26, from 5 to 7 p.m., to learn more about this year’s construction project on Hwy 9 in Barnesville. The event will be held at the Old City Hall, 101 Front St. N., in Barnesville.

Residents, business owners, area visitors and commuters are encouraged to attend the public open house. There will be no formal presentation. Please stop in whenever it is convenient.

This summer, MnDOT will reconstruct Hwy 9 in Barnesville, from Fourth Street/railroad crossing west on Main Avenue to Interstate 94. Residential and business access will be maintained during construction, but thru-traffic will be detoured. The project is expected to start in June, with the potential for an earlier start weather permitting, and will be completed in September.

Visit Barnesville project webpage to learn more about the Hwy 9 project and to sign up for project email updates. For those who cannot attend the in-person open house, detour maps and other construction information, as well as a MnDOT contact information and an online form to submit comments and questions, can be found on the project website.

MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all. If you need an ASL, a foreign language interpreter, or other reasonable accommodation, or need documents in an alternative format (such as braille or large print) for this email or event, please email your request to Janet Miller at ADArequest.dot@state.mn.us or call 651-366-4720.
