The FAST Act provides modest funding increases for the Tribal Transportation Program (TTP), which provides access to basic community services to enhance the quality of life in Indian country. 

Funds are distributed under a statutory formula based on road mileage, tribal population, and relative need.

Nationally Significant Federal Lands and Tribal Projects

The FAST Act establishes the Nationally Significant Federal Lands and Tribal Projects (NSFLTP) program to provide funding for the construction, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of nationally-significant projects on Federal or tribal lands. 

Projects must have an estimated cost of at least $25 million with priority given to projects over $50 million.  Subject to appropriation, $100 million is authorized each year for years 2016-2020.
