Hwy 71—south Wadena County

About this project

MnDOT will update and resurface five miles of Hwy 71 from Franklin Ave. S to Todd Line Rd., Wadena County, includes sidewalks in the city of Wadena.

Summary of work

• Resurface the asphalt road between Franklin Ave. S and Todd Line Rd., includes turn lanes and shoulders
• Install new road markings and rumble/mumble strips
• Update sidewalks and entrance approaches along Jefferson St. S (Hwy 71) from Franklin Ave. S to Lincoln Ave. S
  • Note: This project brings the final segment of Hwy 71 sidewalk in Wadena up to date
• Install lighting at these intersections:
  • Co. Rd. 103 and Bottemiller Dr.
  • Co. Rd. 103 and Co. Rd. 104
• Perform additional repairs, as warranted

Future impacts

More will be known closer to construction

• Motorists: Lane closures or one-way alternate traffic with use of flaggers and pilot car
• Pedestrians: Segments of sidewalk closures with signed detours
