2023 roadwork
Begins mid-August

MnDOT will resurface 36 miles of Hwy 47 from north of Hwy 27 in Isle to Hwy 169 in Aitkin.
Summary of work
- Resurface the road, shoulders and turn lanes (mill and asphalt overlay)
- Update pipes and repair ditches
- Re-establish gravel shoulders
- Install mumble strips and road markings
Impacts
- Alternate one-way traffic with use of flaggers and a pilot car
- Expect to slow down, stop and wait for your turn through the work zone
- Expect reduced speeds
- Work will occur on good weather days, sunrise to sunset, Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays
- All lanes will be open over Labor Day Weekend
Work plan
Expect multiple crews at work along this 36-mile work zone. Locations will move and change each day. Tentative schedule:
- Mid-Aug to mid-Sept: Pipe and repair work along road Isle to north of Glen
- Mid-Sept to late Oct: Resurface north of Glen to Isle (23 miles)
- Late Sept to late Oct: Resurface Aitkin to north of Glen (13 miles)
