About this 2024 project

MnDOT will resurface and improve 12 miles of Hwy 23 from Milaca to east of Ogilvie, which includes shoulders, underground drainage structures and updates to access. The project will require detours.

Summary of work

  • Resurface (asphalt) road and shoulders
  • Update access:
    • Realign 100th Ave./Mille Lacs Co. Rd. 101 east of Milaca and install left turn lanes on Hwy 23
    • Install left turn lanes on Hwy 23 at 90th Ave./Mille Lacs Co. Rd. 144
  • Replace three drainage structures:
    • Pipe between 78th Ave. and 165th St., west of Bock
    • Box bridge east of Cable St./Kanabec Co. Rd. 52, east of Bock
    • Box bridge at South Fork Groundhouse River between 50th Ave. and Bear St., east of Bock

  • Lane closures, alternate one-way traffic, flaggers, pilot car
  • Reduced speed limit
  • Detours to replace drainage structures:
  • Access will be open to those who live, work or visit those along the work zone; however, expect changes and use of alternate accesses
