Endorsements for commercial operations
We have compiled a list of all necessary items that must be provided to obtain commercial operation endorsements from the State of Minnesota.
- If you are from out of state, you must have a listing with your local Secretary of State (SOS)
- You must register your drone with the FAA
- Register your drone with the State of Minnesota
- Provide a copy of Part 107
- Provide the required insurance information
- Provide payment and tax ID
- If from out of state, you must have a listing with your local Secretary of State (SOS)
- Provide your airport authorization letter
- Provide payment and tax ID
You must provide all of the following, unless noted otherwise:
- If out of state, you must have a listing with your local Secretary of State (SOS)
- Airport authorization letter (not required for Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones)
- A letter from your maintenance provider (not required for UAVs)
- A copy of FAA part 137
- Your license number from the Department of Agriculture
- Registered aircraft N#'s
- Certificate of Insurance with a current expiration date with at least a 5-day cancellation endorsement (Minnesota Administrative Rule 8800.3200 subp. 15) and an aerial application of $100k per person, $300k per occurrence, and $100k of property damage.
- Payment and tax ID
You must provide the below:
- If out of state, you must have a listing with your local Secretary of State (SOS)
- Airport authorization letter
- A letter from your maintenance provider
- Registered aircraft N#'s
- Payment and tax ID
- $5,000 school bond
- Lesson plan that mentions Minnesota Rules and Statutes
- Flight school rules: including traffic pattner and practice area -- 1000' pattern altitude
- Syllabus for courses offered - ASA, Jepp, Own Syllabus - with course outlines
- An insurance advisory form that advises students or renters if they are covered by the operator's insurance policy and the type and extent of coverage. This form must have a place for customers to sign indicating they have been advised of their coverage.
- A Certificate of Insurance with a current expiration date with at least a 5-day cancellation endorsement (Minnesota Administrative Rule 8800.3200 subp. 15) for instruction or rental with a minimum of $100k per pass and $500k per occurrence
The following must be provided:
- Airport authorization letter
- Payment and tax ID
- Certificate of Insurance with a current expiraton date and at least a 5-day cancellation endorsement (Minnesota Administrative Rule 8800.3200 subp. 15) with minimum coverage of $100k per person and $500k per occurrence for bodily injury or property damage
- Products hazard and completed operations
- Hangar Keepers policy (if there is no Hangar Keepers, you need to provide notice form in writing)
- Payment and tax ID
The following must be provided:
- Airport authorization letter
- Payment and tax ID
- Certificate of Insurance with a current expiration date, at least a five day cancellation endorsement (Minnesota Administrative Rule 8800.3200 subp. 15), and a minimum of $100k per pass seat, $100k non-pass, and $300k per occurence
- Letter of Agreement (LOA) from the FAA
- Letter from your maintenance provider
You must provide all of the following:
- Airport authorization letter
- Payment and tax ID
- Certificate of Insurance with a current expiration date, at least a five-day cancellation endorsement (Minnesota Administrative Rule 8800.3200 subp. 15), and a minimum of $100k per pass, $500k per occurrence for instruction or rental
